Does anyone know when big game hunting season at Stewart officially begins in 2019? I checked their website but didn't find any clear cut dates.

I was there yesterday and woefully unaware of the 10,000,000 people who would be shooting at me and anything else that might move.
I heard way too many gunshots for sure
By some very strange coincidence I was wearing a blaze orange jersey which I haven’t worn in years
There were easily 100 trucks lining the roads.
I did however see two large bucks who must be smarter than the guys w guns.
The riding wasn’t awesome anyway as there was an easy 6” of leaves in most spots.

Funny, we were there Sunday afternoon (Ridge Road pkg area about 2:30) and there was almost no one there at that time. Saw a few hunters on our ride (all in trucks) but no one on foot. This is small game season and bow season (no crossbows allowed during this early season). There is a youth pheasant hunting day around this time of year - maybe that was the end of that? Anyhow below is a page of the NY hunting seasons. Stewart closes to all but hunters during the regular big game firearms season, usually 2 weeks at the end of November beginning of December. FWIW, I have always ridden there during small game and bow season. Small game hunters are wearing mandatory orange and bird shot doesn't carry far. Bow hunters are in the woods only at dawn and dusk.
