The person who started this sounds like he had no ill intentions...or he's lying through his teeth because he fucked up and got caught and doesn't want to deal with the social consequences. We'll never truly know. I'll choose to believe his statement, because why not. What is still troubling is your jerkoff townspeople yelling "fuck the police". In my estimation there's 2 populations with the balls to do some bullshit like that: poor people with nothing to lose, where those same townspeople would likely call them "animals". And rich white people who know they can't be touched. Oh some fines? that means nothing to them and they know they won't be harmed. I'll apologize for the wording. I should have said rich fucks from rumson, singling out those involved vs labeling the town as such. I've met some really cool people from rumson. Be safe. If you see a guy at Hart's on a green hardtail with a blue helmet when it is open again, say hi...that's me.

I've seen first hand how people dislike my town. What sucks the most is seeing it on the sports fields where my kids have to deal with it. I've also experienced multiple times on say a chair lift in Colorado where I tell someone I'm from NJ and they will just stop the conversation. People hate Rumson and they certainly hate NJ. There are certainly elite assholes in Rumson but I've found elite assholes in many other places too including those "cool people" states of Vermont and Colorado. As an observance I've noticed that most of the people in Rumson that are entitled elitist are that way to everyone (including their kid's teammate's parents for example) and not just blue collar workers from other towns. PS - and they usually don't have the money that they think they have ;)

I understand with the stigma our town has that someone could see that news feed and easily say those stupid rumson fucks. What is frustrating is seeing someone in town (and I don't know him personally) get death threats and crucified on social media after Rumson PD posts on Facebook something that isn't 100% accurate (btw - I've had very good dealings with RPD and have found they do a great overall job). Then the story gets picked up by the media and explodes where it is broadcasted on a national level.

I'll look at out Hart/Huber for you and will certainly say hello. I'm usually hiking in those areas but am pretty good and recognizing riders. Thank you and be safe as well ?

golf courses, botanical gardens, and other lands, waters,
and facilities assigned to the State Park Service in DEP’s Division
of Parks and Forestry (“State Parks and Forests”);

Just FYI, I live 1 block away from Ryerson and yesterday and today Police presence around Cupsaw seems to have already matched what I normally see in a year...

Did you read the article that I had a link to? He stopped playing when he was made aware of the situation by police. The account I heard was people were walking thru the neighborhood (this was on Saturday and it was a warmer/nicer day after days of rain) and some stopped to listen but kept spread out from each other. I'd imagine it was similiar to how we mtn bikers where handling ourselves when we were at the parking lot and the trails this past weekend.

What is funny is the amount of praise the video of the people singing from their balconies in Italy got a couple weeks ago. This doesn't seem much different than that but maybe I am missing something :shrug:

Yeah, I think Ryerson may as well just be considered an official Ringwood lot at this point. Not sure what the police could legally do to prevent you from parking there, and I imagine the first bit of trail you ride is actually school property, but if there is an issue/confrontation then they could just involve the school. I'm sure the easiest thing for the school to do at that point would be to ban us from parking there and let the cops ticket/tow us. This is why I was suggesting people not park there.
