I cracked a rim like 5000 miles ago and it's still fine, and that one time I broke the hub, you replaced it for free in like 36 hours.

Pampas and I rode for 4+ years on a Nextie 90 wild dragon with a 3 inch by 1 inch hole in it......never lost air or was an issue
