It was disappointing to find out snowshoes don't work in 3ft of fresh snow. Kind of like fat bikes (runs and hides).

They work as intended, but first tracks are always the worst. Snow poles required. And the snowshoes have to be 25"+ to get decent flotation.

@soundz are those MSRs? They aren’t the greatest design. My Tubbs actually work pretty well. Stops you from post-holing every step. Give them a run down steep hills - like actually running. It’s actually pretty fun.

Those snowshoes look way too small. If you want flotation, you need a bigger footprint.

It seems like all the shoes I'm seeing these days are really small,
and I wonder if the fit is proper.
My 10 y/o+ Tubbs are gigantic in comparison at 30".
