Skinnie Tipping

How weird is that sand bar that popped up all of the sudden? Last week I rode closer to the water on the sand bar and ended up having to cross a 2 foot deep channel at one point. Or turn around and go all the way back, which is much less fun!!

PS-No invite?
Sorry about that Jim! We were originally going to head north to Kingston NY, but made the call last night to stay local-ish. Didn't think anyone was up after I got back from Robert Cray's concert. You're right about that sandbar. That's one of the great things about Sandy Hook, no two days there are the same. Check out the wreck at 1:45 in the video. It's nearly covered. Compare it to the ride I took same time last year with @Frank (2nd pic below).

We timed low tide perfectly today. Bay side was beach-rideable for the entire stretch of Horseshoe Cove to the Batteries and Munitions sheds.

love this! screwing around on debris and driftwood is my favorite thing about beach riding, its like a skills park surrounded by a foam pit

my understanding is that march to Sept is piping plover season so certain areas are off limits to all beach goers. We encountered a few rangers on our jaunt around the hook, including one with whom we exchanged greetings and they had no issue with us riding where we were. Recommend going before march and respecting all "areas closed" signage, and being courteous to the rangers of course.
