I remember my early and pre-teen years skating on Main ST in Metuchen and at the train station. I didnt stick with it, but I was always encouraged and inspired by some of the local and eventually to be legendary talent.

Rodney was older, but always cool to me. Chris Pastras was also a classmate of mine. He was really mentored by Rodney. I remember seeing them zooming through town together, their size difference so extreme.

I skated non-stop for 3 years. I stopped when I mastered landing tre-flips and varials its almost like I hit a wall and couldnt get any better no matter how hard I tried. I have never owned one but Ive always loved long boarding better.. Probably because I love going fast and hate leaving the ground.. Thats the reason I mountain bike and not BMX:rolleyes:

If this is what you like, you should take a look at Rodney Mullen. I know the skateboarding "household name" is Tony Hawk, but Mullen is the real king of skateboarding.

Mullen is certianly one of the forefathers of modern street skating and fliptrickery. He is alos one of those guys that never seemed to stop progressing and always changing with the time. I think he would give props to that other guy....
