I run a 900 on my bars and 1100 on my head and I ride dickerson with both on the lowest settings. I can definitely ride with just 1 on medium no issues. I also have terrible night vision so you should be fine.
Added a diffuser to my bar lights to get a wider beam - It's an amazon cree cheapie, but works well.

The one I got came in a bag with no instructions. How do you switch from 3 to 5 modes to get medium and SOS? The headband is useless for normal sized heads, so I cut off the band and tie wrapped the mount on my helmet. There's probably a better way. I used a mount from another light for...

It definitely does a good job of lighting up the entire parking lot so you don't have to drink beers in the dark.

That's 2 years. Last July I spun thru the parking lot of a town park and my 800 helmet and 1100 bar light illuminated the guy doing what appeared to be naked pushups in the back seat.
Night rides ftw.
