Should I grease the shaft?

Carbon seat post, aluminum frame, do I grease the post or not. I seem to remember it not needing to be greased.

Any help?

This is one of the few instances where you WILL NOT grease the shaft. Just clean it all nice and insert it RAW DOG. You can use the super-ill "red carbon stuff" if you get any slippage, but most of the time, NOT!!

May not be a bad idea to take the post out now and then to check and clean. Aluminum/carbon combo can corrode and seize. I had it happen to my road bike once.

Galvanic corrosion, for you chemist types.

A little of that red stuff will help prevent this, I assume, as well as slippage.
