Shock question

I have heard that you shouldn't keep a bike with oil shocks upside down for an extended period of time. So is it a bad idea to hang a bike from the ceiling from either the front or rear wheel using rubber coated hooks? The bike won't be upside down, but it will be vertical with the shock facing towards the ceiling or the floor. Anyone have any thoughts.

Its not really a problem unless you have air bubbles in your brake lines (poor bleed) and they migrate up your lines to the master cylinder.

Fox recommends it:

Storing the bicycle upside down and inverting the fork allows oil to run down to the foam rings and keeps them lubricated and ready for your next ride.

it wont be a problem unless you have bad seals or air in the brake lines , this also will show you if you have a leak ;)
