Shimano shifters

[Not So Fast]

I broke my Shimano LX 570 shifter in a crash. Now is the time to replace them. I sticking with Shimano. Which is the better replacement choice LX SL M580 ($72) or XT SL M751 ($70)? Why? Should I consider another model?

They are almost identical. The M580 (2008) shifter is pretty much a rebadged M571 (2007) XT shifter...They replaced the 571 with the new pimpy M770
