Where are you staying and what kind of ride are you looking for? There are unlimited options, from backcountry to lift access. Already two good suggestions above. Harrisonburg/GWNF is amazing too.

I might add that you would not regret it if you hit the Gambrill Park and Frederick watershed trails and Frederick Maryland on your way. Only about 20 minutes off route 81.

Few miles north of the Shenandoah historic district in Virginia. I prefer to ride trails typical of North Jersey. Rocky and a bit technical

Frederick watershed is a carbon copy of northern nj but techier and steeper.
