Setting up FIOS with out the coax...

Looking for help on setting up FiOS at my parents' new condo. They're moving in a few weeks and realized that during the renovations, we overlooked the coax cable for the TV(s). Unfortunately, cutting the cord isn't an option for them since they're...OLD.

The FiOS ONT and router are currently set up in a closet, which is the only location where the connection enters the condo. I'm looking for any ideas on optical or wireless devices that can mimic the necessary connections to make the setup work.

Any suggestions or guidance?

If the ONT is in the condo closet, just take the Fios router or your own router hook it up to the Internet Ethernet port. Might have to work Fios support to switch from coax to Ethernet. You will also need a box from Verizon that will provide tv services over network instead of coax. It’s called Fios TV+ based on a quick search and it’s android based.

Another option is keep the router in the closet, setup a mesh network that will get internet throughout the entire house and stream with something like DirecTV Now, the basic package probably has most of the channels that they need.

FiOS has new set boxes out. Do their boxes still use coaxial? When we moved into the house, Verizon pulled wire to a second floor for free. We've since cut the cord.

I just set up a brand new cable box and modem/router for the boomer parents last weekend.

The cable box seemed to be able to work either coax or Ethernet. I just went the easy route with coax.
