Serious upgrade ready

I have a Surly Pugsley asymmetrical steel frame tank I will be looking to unload and seriously upgrade to a much lighter bike. Some of the specs I want:
• LIGHTWEIGHT!
• Carbon or Alum, but prefer carbon
• Rigid frame/fork
• 4.8 or wider tubeless tires
• $4k budget
• Can be new or used

I’ve done a little research, but I’d like to hear some other input. There’s a good chance I’ll be riding the Great Allegheny Passage bike packing this summer and I’d like to use this new bike for that. TIA!

Hey Kev, you looking for a fatbike? or did you mean 2.8 or wider tires? or are we measuring in cm now?

I’m 6’-4” tall and I rode XL Cannondale MTB as well as a 61cm Cdale road bike. So I’m guessing I’ll need a a pretty large bike.

At 6’4” as well, I’m riding a 2018/19 Fatboy XL. Its a perfect fit and I absolutely love it. The Ground Control 4.6’s are actually 4.3’s on 80mm rims. I’ll be looking for true 4.8’s for next Fall. No bike packing intentions, yet.
