Selling For Parts

Hello. I cracked the top shock bolt on my Orbea Occam, which ended up putting a severe crack in the frame. Unfortunately, it seems like my only option is to sell off what I can and put the cash towards a new bike.

Everything you see but the pedals and the frame (unless you want a cracked frame for some reason) is for sale. I've listed the components that I think might be of interest below, but if you're looking for anything else, please reach out.

This would be a massive coincidence, but if you happen to have a full sus. that you're thinking of selling and really want a dt swiss wheelset, we might be able to work something out.

I'm in the Hartshorne woods area.

Thanks very much,
Brice

Have you considered the possibility to repair the frame ? Generally speaking is not a cheap option but it can be much cheaper that a new frame.

Thanks so much for the advice - I will give those guys a call. I don't have super high hopes, though. Not only is the frame severely cracked, but the clearance hole for the bolt is totally misaligned with the threads on the other side of the frame. Still worth a shot.

Thanks again,
Brice

Are you the original owner? I thought they have lifetime warranties assuming not abused

Thanks everyone for the feedback! It is true the frame has a lifetime warranty, but you had to be the original buyer from a licensed Orbea dealer (which I was not, bought secondhand from TPC). I did email Orbea, but all the emails were in spanish??

@a.s. - the frame is a large, the year is 2020.

Porfavor, no hablo español, esta una persona que habla inglés?

Fwiw, many of them DO speak English, as they're younger Europeans, for whom English is a compulsory language in school.

I have an older Rallon, and communications were always great. Not sure why it's in Spanish but in today's world, Translate connects worlds apart easily.

English, Spanish... if he is not the original owner, it doesn't matter.

My Occam is riding well now that I've changed all my bearings. No longer see myself needing the frame for parts.

Thank you everyone for all of your help, I really appreciate it.

The email from Orbea more or less told me that everything has to be done through a distributor/dealer and I would need to present the "purchase invoice". I didn't even think to ask about a discount - thanks so much @qclabrat, I just responded to them with that question
