Scudder Falls Bridge Public Hearing

Trying to notify the local bicycling community of this upcoming public hearing. It is a public hearing about the Scudder Falls Bridge (I-95 Ewing to Yardley) which is in the planning process of being reconstructed. There is a chance of there being a pedestrian/bicycle path on the bridge and the voices of the bicycling community could hopefully aid in the decision of this. If you have the time please try to make it out to one of the meetings.

"Go to a public hearing and testify that you want a pathway included in the re-built bridge. There are two hearings scheduled; for each the Open House begins at 5PM, Public Hearing begins at 7PM.

Tuesday January 19, 2010 Villa Victoria Academy, 376 Upper Ferry Road, Ewing NJ
Wednesday January 20, 2010 Sheraton Bucks County Hotel, 400 Oxford Valley Rd, Langhorne, PA"

I was already planning to go. It would be really useful to have a bike crossing between Trenton and Washington Crossing.

Seems like any kind of pedestrian crossing would be a good idea. After all we don't have to ride our bikes over the bridge:eek:

Just wanted to bump this up because the New Jersey meeting is tonight. I would really like to see a pedestrian bridge added to the plan.

my in laws went because they live right on I-95 on the PA side. I told them to support ped access on the bridge. Will get an update from them but they aren't the best with details.

The bike path is open!
Rode it this morning and it is awesome. Opens up a connector and new loops between Washington Cross and Morrisville / Trenton. The best part is you do not have to walk! Going to be some sick evening views from the "overlook" bump outs. Also, the converted the old house there on the PA side to a restroom and built a path between the park and ride to the bridge. Previously, you had to use the road there and it is a two lane no shoulder road and was less than optimal. DRJTBC really nailed this one.

Princeton Freewheelers posted about yesterday's ribbon cutting. Apparently a bunch of bike clubs, PFW included, were represented along with your typical political figures.

Gotta take an adventure ride one day to check it out.

Yeah apparently the guest list was considerably smaller due to Covid. Ironically Seven or eight of these people are on Strava and one of them created a segment in both directions. Sure felt good taking both segments from the old geezers that run these bike clubs (sarcasm)
