Salsa Mukluk rebranded

New specs August 3rd.
Reasoning for rebranding is because “ Muluk” could be deemed insensitive.

I guess when you pay someone to tell you that you are offensive in some way they will come up with something in order to justify getting paid. So strange how people and coporations go around seeking ways to be offended these days.

Ah, if I only could share some of the stories I live though working for a Corporation part of the fashion industry...

The actions Western Europeans took towards native Americans in the past justifies any company being sensitive IMO. I can understand native people’s being upset about a company taking ownership (tm) of a noun in their language. Salsa should rename the bike “ furry winter boot” if they feel that best describes the product.

Cute but it’s not the same when dealing with trademark’s. Naming a bike company salsa just means other bike companies can not be named salsa. Trademarking a product can limit the use of the name of other products using that name.

Please stop eating pizza if you haven’t already, I consider it cultural appropriation and offensive to my culture, especially with what is called that in most ‘restaurants’ in the US. Salsa means sauce in Italian as well, so let’s be accurate since it also happens to be a Spanish word and not ‘Mexican’. It’s all virtue signaling, why would Native American be offended for a company using the name of a boot for a model of bike that is supposed to perform in the snow as said boots it’s a mistery to me. Also, I would imagine that the work Mukluk is just an ‘europe-ization’ of a native name that vaguely sounds like it.

Hey why is spicy tomato and pepper sauce still using Beargrease? That was the name of a native american chief.
