This stuff is like bike-geek porn, isn't it?

I think that you will find great value in them but possibly even more on the road bike.

I will bring you a set for both to try on Tuesday.

Duh..

7am Tuesday at Allaire for anyone who wants to pedal like it is 1999.

$67 for a middle 36 4 bolt. I use this on my SS and the chain has never dropped.

They have a 100% money back deal if you don't love them.

Just this week I sold a few sets to guys who I consider the hardest to convince.

They have seen a small improvement at the outer efforts. These are the same guys who are willing to pay 1000's of dollars for and extra .05mph.

This concept is the cheapest way to get a little more out of your legs.

Fred saw some pretty solid result in the last week or so.

I am sold but honestly they are a hard sell since they are a break from the "Norm".

I have gone through about 10 sets in the last 2 weeks. About 1/2 of them I just gave to customers and they came back with cash in hand.

I am trying to get My friend who races DH Semi-Pro to try them on the DH bike. I think that for the short bursts of effort they will be great.

HEy tassels aren't the norm either, but they're the Norm.

I'm reserving judgement. I did read of an MIT study that said most people actually lost power. But I'm not sure if it was a study of this particular device. A lot of the hard core roadies poo poo the idea. But that's what they do.

IOW, I have nothing to add. This is why my post total is so high.

I think he meant a 34t 4 bolt (104mm). They make a 36t (and 46t and 50t) 5 bolt (110mm) for compact road cranks.

Jason will tell you that I'm really not given to going for the latest/greatest when it comes to bike stuff, but I'm gonna give these a try. I think the concept makes sense.

sweet, it's like an old school 'power oval' sprocket. I thought that was the craziest thing I ever saw! I built a tall bike with a roadie that was equipped with one, at first I thought the sprocket was mangled, then I read the name on the sprocket cover.

I've been riding these things for about 370 miles now. When first put on I noticed that my pedal stroke instantly felt smoother. This is especially noticeable at slow cranking speeds. They feel more efficient. I am not sure if they are worth it for the more recreational rider.

Pros: Smoother pedal stroke, more efficient use of leg power.

Cons: $$$$$, seem a little more prone to chain suck than my FSA rings, mounting holes are incomplete circles making it easy to strip the heads off of your chainring bolts if you're not careful.

eggsacktly

I have these both on the Road and Mt bike. I love them and consider them to be a stock item which I wouldn't go without. It is important to note that you may and should play with the way the ring sits on the crank arms. This changes how early or late the "egg" power-stroke comes on within the rotation. This is different for every rider and bike so there is no one best setup.

I have sold nearly 100 sets of these rings and I have only had one person return them. The situation was bad shifting on a road bike. To be clear the customer bought 2 sets. They worked on one of his road bikes but not the other. He kept one set and loves them. weird..

Anyway these are still just out of the public eye as mainstream so I still get funny looks on group rides and in the shop when folks see these eggs a spinning..

If anyone want to try a set I do have some for demo.

I will be riding my rotor ring on the trail for the first time on sunday, I'll get back on my impressions since I will also be focusing on my new carbon fork, bars and seat post.
