All, sorry for the double post, I'm just hoping to catch people who may be planning to make a trip to Rattling tomorrow and have not seen that we postponed due some weather related rider safety concerns -- more precisely, a concern that if the worst weather hit we'd potentially be unable to extract riders in case of an emergency situation. Below is what we put up in a bunch of places yesterday. Sorry for late notice here, I just thought of the forum and am only now posting.
----- "Having spent all day looking for solutions and considering alternatives that will allow us to create a fun and safe experience for you we have decided to postpone the #RattlingMTB races one week to Sunday, April17.
There are a multitude of factors playing into this decision. The latest forecast (5-8" with 40mph gusts) coupled with a serious concern for how the worst case forecast would impair our ability to extract people should an evac be needed are the primary factors.
Those of you pre-reg'd have been sent an email from BikeReg. We will reopen reg for next Sunday (and the forecast looks great!) so get on board and come on out!" -----
That out of the way, we have reopened online reg for next Sunday and would love to have you join us - weather already looks about 50 degrees better! Miles of fun flowing singletrack and some great tech features out in these woods. Three event distances. http://outdoorexperience.org/rattling-weekend/register/
