Pulling Cranks

Hi, I want to pull the cranks off the an old Specialized Expedition. Looks like default Specialized crank set that came with the bike. What are the right tools for the job?

Will the same tool(s) work on more modern Shimano, Truvativ, Raceface cranks?

you'll need a 14mm wrench and a crank puller.

i'd recommend the pedro's puller. it works on everything! http://www.pedros.com/products_tools.htm

oops .. I meant to ask about pulling the bottom bracket as well .. do I need one of those cylinder thingies?

take it to a shop and have them pull it, otherwise you need a splined too just for that bottom bracket and it might fit one of your other bikes..

Like Kevin said, take it to a shop.

If you replace it with an outboard bearing crank, they use a different tool, like this.
