clifton,it's been awhile since my last long distance riding, due to recently snow storm, so,.yesterday i was able to make it!
the road was clear very low trafficts, except that i'ved recorded along my trip 14 death deer,4 squirrel,3 smelly skunk,1 cat and amazingly a tiny blue bird (how's that possible? they flying not crossing!)
so,.i was thinking why not start a thread call "post your century rides"..
then we all can share our passion for long distance bike riding, you can do it with your dept store bikes,5k+ carbon road bikes or mountain, mountain bikes HT or fullsus,26er or 29er,doesn't matter what you ride as long as your riding distance exceeding more than 100 miles..either roads or trails riding nor combine.

and a gps files would be a solid proof also photos is a plus to provides your century rides report.or,..you may make up a story of your century rides:D

No not you, Liong. Didn't he post a pic of a dead squirrel that he picked up and placed on his tire on one ride?

Unfortunately I don't have a Garmin so I can't post any loops, anyone want to let me borrow one? Also, I've done at least 6 "actual" centuries so far this year and have only had other people with me ONCE!! So if anyone wants to get one of these in, I'd enjoy a little company;)

I want to ride a century or a few this year. This thread can inspire me.
In the meantime here's some pics of an unfortunate fellow that flew in front of my truck while on the way home from Vermont last summer.

139 miles ride on singlespeed 29er.

clifton.unfortunately yesterday's ride wasn't like i was planed, first i took detour onto paulinskill valley trail well i couldn't resist it since i never rode this rail trail before.but luckily, these trail also would bring me back to may original route and then it happen again, somehow i ended it up at US army base situated on a hill just right on the the rt 699 (berkshire valley rd) so,.i turn around before they start shoot me.
following berkshire valley rd all the way to the end (rt 23)

overall,it was a very pleasant day for long distance riding the weather was very mild and road back was quite, got chased by 2 mean german shepperd and the owner was stupid enough not trying to help to calm the dog and just i tought the dog is got handled then they started chased me again and with furios barking showing their lovely sharp teeth.i think if i make a movement (i didn't move at all,i'm scare to pee on my pants :D)....and for the third time they trying to get me,..finnaly i'm so mad,i swing my bike at them to fight back and then after all they are cowards.(coz the owner didn't seem to help controling their dog coz she just walk slowly and told me to "just keep walking, they don't bite" (yeah, right) and she didn't even bother to apologize to me.oh..well what a day!

i came across with this trail sign on spring valley road just off from route 94.so instead of continuing my original route i go with this paulinskill valley trail and found out where it will gonna take me.

and there are about more than 10 others horse riders as well all along this rail trail.
tips to pass horse back riders without spook the horse and the owner....just wistle with about 3 to 4 horse distance.(a tips from horse riders that i met)

Once again you came within a 1/4 mile to my house and played in my playground. When you get this urge to come by you must stop by so I can feed and join you on some of these miles. Awesome route. Pkill is a treat for anyone...
