You call qtips cotton swabs too? Both names are perfectly acceptable. Same with Taylor Ham vs Pork Roll. Taylor Ham was the original name until the FDA or whomever told him he couldn't call it Ham. Taylor ham is technically the original name of this product and perfectly acceptable.

People outside of the north east call sneakers tennis shoes and soda is refered to as pop. All just regional names for stuff.

There’s nothing to debate here, no ambiguity what so ever. The meat is ground in a grinder, not chopped up with knives or a meat cleaver. The name ground beef exactly and accurately describes what they did to it.
