PON putting GT brand on pause!!

Unfortunately i dont think the brand ever moved passed its 80’s and 90’s success and became stagnant.

What was the ultra-light steel GT in the mid-90s? My friend broke so many of those.... They would kink the top tube up near the headset.

My first real MTB was a '94 GT Karakoram. It lives on as my friend's neighborhood bike and he's promised to return it at some point so I can hang the frame on a wall at my home next to the Merlin. Probably eventually move those 2 into assisted living with me and annoy the nurses changing my diapers with rambling stories about back-in-the-day.

Maybe the Xizang? I thought it was Titanium, but maybe they did both steel and Titanium.

I have a '92 GT Tequesta frame hanging up in my basement which was my first MTB. I wanted a Zaskar....this, purchased used was as close as I could get. Sort of a poor college kids Zaskar. It has the sweetest 90's splash paint job!

I still rock a slightly older (2015-ish) GT LaBomba on BMX/Pump tracks and like it a lot. GT has still maintained a pretty big presence in BMX racing, though many have been waiting a while for their new race frames to hit, which of course isn't looking likely to ever happen.

If we didn't already have Dirt Jumpers, I would be scooping up a Labomba.
