Pickups and bike racks

i had the hollywood rack whaen i had a truck not bad at all except there were no locks on it. i used it at the begining but after a while i just tossed the bikes into the bed i got lazy and if it was just me why take the wheel off if the whole bike fit. also think about the type of bike u and the guys u ride with. if u don't have a qr axel the bed blocks won't work

I used to have a similar set-up in my van: 4 qr blocks bolted to a piece of plywood. With DH bikes and t/a forks, it was a PITA and I eventually replaced it with a set up similar axcxnj's, only made from wood: 4 slots with eye-bolts for strapping down. However, securing this into the van was a pain and eventually I reinstalled the rear bench (it was a gutted conversion van) and just strapped the bikes to the seat with wool blankets between them. This set-up worked best, although w/o the center seats, carrying passengers didn't happen often.

I miss my van...
