You don't miss seeing your retired colleagues in person? :)

We have a 25 year club that meets twice a year with a big lunch at the Piscataway campus but that got shut down last year - no news on when they will resume. Also closed access to the company store for retirees, but I rarely used that.

Do you own a PALMOLIVE t-shirt?

Now that I am older I think about the word "palm olive" and it sounds a little like porn to me. Curious name, that.

I have a bunch of golf shirts from the annual golf outings, plus some brand specific shirts from products I developed (like Total and Tom's of Maine variants). Palmolive came from a 19th century soap formula made with palm and olive oils. When I left they were transitioning out of palm oils as most aren't sustainable.

Bad time to own commercial real estate, eh? Home sales are on fire. The pandemic really revealed just how much could get done without the traditional office environment. We'll see....
I did a bunch of music livestreams throughout. Weird at 1st, but some well attended and actually ended up more in tips than if I was out gigging locally. More venues opening up and we'll see what survives the storm. The few indoor shows I've done all sold out (with limited cap) as soon as they went on sale. I know people are ready to see live music again.

I can't manage the construction field (iron workers, carpenters, operators, laborers, and owners) from home. Sure I was able to swing a few training days from home, but that's the max of it.

Listening to an all employee town hall as I type this. Remote till at least September. I can tell you this much, I’m not going in to any office 5 days a week nor am I going anywhere that requires public transportation. No Fucking way I’m doing that shit anymore. At a 3+ hrs daily commute I’m not sure I’m willing to ever go back.

We already had 2 WFH days pre-Covid, have been fully remote since mid-March 2020. Although my commute was comfortable I don’t miss the 3 hours/day commuting to/from NYC. Plus I’m saving hundreds per month by not commuting on ferry. We aren’t going back until at least after Labor Day and even then it will be on a voluntary basis for the first few months; additionally, I think we’ll be getting at least one more WFH day once we go back. I’m never going back to nyc (thank god) because I was relocated to Jersey office 30 minutes from home, that was planned before Covid.
