My buddy received this message from an associate at work:
"On Saturday, I was having a little too much fun on my mountain bike
while racing in the Laramie Enduro.
I wound up flying over my bike and trying to do a front end 360 (not a
good idea). The video tape in my mind, shows that I might have made 120
degrees.
After a fun ride down the hill in an ambulance and 7 hours in the ER, I
am now in a neck brace awaiting to get in to see a specialist.
The Xrays, CT scans, and an MRI, show that I have fractured the C6
vertebrae in my neck.
The fracture is in a good place (if there is such a thing). So, I have
to be careful, but I don't need a halo or surgery yet.
I have few other pains, but mostly feel a little embarrassed. If you
need me for anything, please email me. Talking on the phone is not that
comfortable.
