The weather forecast is looking good for Saturday’s trail work (10/1/11). We’ll be working to firm up some of the sandy areas in the front section near the fire tower. (Firstly… the hairpins turn in the middle of the pine saplings.) Part of the plan includes carting some gravel back to the problem spots, so we could use your help.
We’ll be meeting near the trail head in the Batsto Visitor Center parking lot at 9:00, then walking and/or riding the short distance over to the section. Quitting time is before 12:30 and we’ll be taking a beginner paced ride around the Patriots Loop (red, white & blue trails) afterwards.
RSVP if you can make it. (So we’ll have the proper amount of tools and donuts on hand.) Bring work boots (or comfy shoes), bike, water and a fair amount of humor.
If you are driving in from the Hammonton, Nesco, Sweetwater areas, the CR542 bridge is still closed (and rumored not to be repaired for several months) so you will still be detoured over to CR563.
The first JORBA WSF night ride of the season is Friday, October 7. Open to trail volunteers and JORBA members. Its always a good time. 😀
