NH/MA trail system suggestions

I am leaving for Holderness NH on Friday morning and I have some time to kill. I am looking for a trail system in MA or NH I can hit on the way up that are not too far off course from Rt 91 or Rt 93. Something with well marked trails would be terrific. I ride a hardtail so downhill park would not fit the bill. Thank you

There are 100's of options. Green Woodlands Foundation in NH is slightly out of the way, and the wrong way, but really special and nearly 100% machine built flow. I hope you have time to do a hike or two up there too. Holderness is wonderful. Rattlesnake Ridge has great views and isn't a big commitment. Ride wise, Ramblin' Vewe Farm is close by and pretty fun but not destination riding, just good ole' New England chunder. You may also have snow on the ground depending on where you decide to ride. They're getting 3-5 tomorrow and it looks cold enough to stick around/cause freeze thaw issues.

I really like Holyoke in MA and have used it as an on the way spot when headed to NH. The Batchelor Street side is my fav, but likely too rocky for your liking. You might like the Earl's side, it has some flow. It is really close to 91/Northampton and far enough up that you wont be driving too long after riding. https://www.nemba.org/chapters/pvnemba https://www.facebook.com/groups/pvnemba/

Conn. has a lot of options too, as does NY depending on the route you take. Happy travels!

Thank you for the suggestions. We have been visiting Squam for the last 10 years but except for a mission to Kingdom Trails while up there I have never MTB'd in the area. It is a beautiful area to be sure, I have hiked Rattlesnake in the past. I have a lot of time to kill on Friday so Green Woodlands seems like a good option; however, their website indicates trails close 11/1. I will call LBS up there to get down low. Have you ever ridden trail system near Union CT? It is right off 84 and only a short distance to Treehouse brewery : )

I will add more tomorrow but this morning in MA there’s already some frost heave starting. And it’s currently snowing.

I think Green Woodlands closed last week.

Winter is coming up in these parts real fast. 2 of the ski hills will be open this weekend.

I’d suggest CT.

Which trails in Green Woodlands? I must have parked in the wrong place this year.

We parked at the southern entrance, near the jump line/skills park. https://www.strava.com/activities/5804203665

Never gonna let you down.
@CommandoStyle how much do you like rocks? Cause all my suggestions would involve a lot of rocks. Although I heard a couple of inches came down in parts of CT so it might be messy up there.

I’m ok with Ringwood type rocky but not a fan of Blue Mt Reservation rocky. I didn’t consider winter when coming up with this plan 🙁

Russell Mills in Chelmsford MA is a cool trail system with rollers and skinnies. Really small so it's easy to put together a good loop.
