I dropped into Halters on Saturday to get winterized and picked up the following:

I went out on the road for 5 miles (20min. total in time) on Saturday evening before it got real dark, hit some stiff 20mph head winds, the temp was 28F.

Sunday at 6 Mile, did (1) Canal St. Lot=> Blue=> Yellow=> Canal St Lot and (2) Canal St Lot=> Red => White (New Trail) => then road => Canal St Lot, Temp was about 30F when we started the first loop, light winds. We were out for about 1hr 45min in total on Sunday.

The only thing I wore in addition to the above was my helmet, Sneakers (Adio Skate Shoes, no clips for me yet) and a pair of nylon soccer shorts to cut some wind down on the boys.

The gear performed flawlessly both Saturday and Sunday, keeping me very comfortable, nothing got cold at all…I was actually getting a bit too warm on the last loop at 6mile and opened the pit vents on the jacket to air out a bit.

I am very happy with the purchases…thanks for all the help Jason!

Maybe you have much better circulation than i, but your feet won't survive with those socks alone. I wear those too, with booties and it isn't enough for me when the temps drop a few more degrees.

soooo expensive :gulp:

True..but I didn't feel like doing any form of trial and error. Jason let me demo the jacket and gloves with a quick test run on a bike in the cold and wind that morning, 25F. I had no problem paying a premium for proven results. I run warm so I knew the tights would have been enough, same with the feet. I had a budget and kept with it, they were pretty cool with the pricing I might add.

My feet were fine, I could always were a small base layer under the socks if needed. I should be ok there, I do need something for my ears.

Right now I wear a pair of Adio skate shoes when I ride on the trails....no clips for me just yet. The are pretty thick and provide a pretty good barrier form the cold as well as solid grip on my Speedplay Drillium's

i am super happy that you love the gear. The gore stuff is indeed pricey but they make killer gear and they offer super customer support.

Thanks

You picked up some quality gear that will keep you warm for many winters to come. Those gloves rock! Ride on! (You, not the cables)
