New trail building

Saw during a run today new trail building happening off red "three amigos" trail south of pipeline. Looks official - white flags, trees marked with red tape, raked out single track, at least one tree cut away with a chain saw. Really nice section, goes over a cool boulder area before stopping - no idea where it is planning to go. Can see little offshoot parallel to the 160 m elevation line north of the quarry:

PS tore a calf muscle just before new shoes, had a 2 mile limp of shame to the lot :(

Ouch! Hopefully it doesn't set you back too much. Heal up soon.

I rode Sourland with a friend who was on Saturday's trail maintenance crew there and he said that the new trail was created to provide rock climbers access to a couple of good climbing locations. That's why the trail just stops as you approach the boulders. I don't think we're going to see any further development for mtb'ers...:(.

Haven't gotten out to SL in a while but went Saturday morning. Got to say, big thanks to Jeff, Chris and the rest of the maintenance crew on the start of the new trail. Great layout thus far and looking forward to seeing where it ultimately goes.
