My annoying squeak

Did you check for cracks in the frame around the bottom bracket area? Maybe it's not part related at all.

Replace your knees, that’s my vote.
Short of that check for cracks on the frame. Had an annoying creak on my ht, thought it was in the wheel somewhere until I found a crack at the seatstay, dropout junction.

Got it! I hope, no, I'm sure! Not a chirp out of it on my test run.
I did many of the suggestions, lube seat post, pedal bearings,
tightened crank bolts, lubed everything that moves. Thanks for all
the help, I was just fixed on it being the bottom bracket and didn't
look further. Now I don't have to set it on fire! It came close to this.

A loose nut on the rider?

Wow, not one correct response!. Replace your left Knee. You are old, like myself, thats what happens to us.

Also check your pedal bearings and and rear hub.

My right knee creaks when I go down stairs or do squats. It's been doing that for over 15 years now. How much longer will it last? PS no pain

Back on topic, my road bike has a similar creak, at the bottom of pedal stroke on one side - standing, sitting, doesn't make a difference. Same with one leg pedaling. Assuming bb which I plan to replace with better quality ceramic bearings

I would also suggest taking the chainring off the spindle and cleaning/lightly greasing the threads on chainring bolts.
