They're baaaaccckkk! Thursday Night XC rides at Mountain Creek Bike Park are starting THIS Thursday, June 30th! Make sure you go to the bike shop in the Red Tail Lodge to get your free XC lift ticket BEFORE meeting us at the base of the lift at 5:30 p.m. Hangout out afterwards in the beer garden and catch the end of the Thursday Night downhill races and serenade everyone with your best karaoke!

A little over an hour from ride time... There's still an opportunity to duck out of work early and join us at 5:30! Free lift access for this XC ride will continue weekly, every Thursday until Labor Day weekend. Special thanks to Dave and crew for putting in some hard work on the MCBP trail network!

Summer Scramble race pre-ride this Thursday, 7/14! Free XC lift ticket - just stop at the bike shop in the lodge before meeting us at 5:30 at the BASE of lift. We'll have some more pre-rides next week - deets to come!

Just keep an eye on the MCBP Facebook page if the weather is sketchy - some dumb rules about lightning and lift closures, etc.

OK, here's the schedule for the rest of the pre-rides.
  • Saturday, July 16 - 10 a.m. Hit the bike shop in the lodge before 10 for your free XC lift ticket, and meet us at the base of the lift.
  • Same deal for Tuesday, July 19 and Thursday, July 21 - 5:30 p.m. meeting at base of lift - get yo' ticket first.
Check MCBP Facebook page for weather updates if Mother Nature looks like she's getting cranky!

I'm interested in pre-riding the course but really unfamiliar with how the mtn creek trails work. Does anyone know if the course will be marked and/or course map posted, and is it open to pre-ride outside of those scheduled pre-rides? If so, do you have to be out of there by 7pm, and are the lift tickets free only for the scheduled pre-rides?

the free lift ticket is for the scheduled pre rides and thursday night xc rides throughout the summer but a single ride xc pass is pretty cheep and you get a discount with a jorba membership. you dont have to be out by 7 but the lift stops then.

the trails up there are fantastic with a nice mix of everything.

thursday evening rides are typically ~8 miles with a good mix of people - hyper-athlete pros down to people who get passed by hikers (that would be me).

anyway, its a huge amount of fun and I'm always surprised it's not more popular after the race weekend is finished.
