But when doing test, with people who had the garmin edge units the miles were off. If they had 5 miles you had 3 miles. The other issue you will burn up the battery on the phone, it will not last a day of riding...

martin Active Member Jun 7, 2010 #3 if you force the apps to use GPS, not cell towers i wonder how it compares? i guess you'd need to setup a test of all 3 - garmin gps, smartfone app, and good ol' magnet on the wheel
