Motos in SSP

Red Mosquito

Formerly RLB the Scrapple Boy
Team MTBNJ Halter's
I rode earlier today and noticed a lot of corners were torn up by motos. It didn't look like anything too bad, or anything that wont fix itself, but a few rocks looked out of place in the rock piles and logs looked out of place on some of the log-overs. I saw this mostly on the pink trail and on the trail coming in from the quarry/Waterloo Valley Rd (after the RR underpass).

Not sure what there is to do about it (not much Im sure) but I figured I'd bring it up here just in case.

Ohhhhhh no he ditttinnnn! When it's put that way I guess I don't have too much of a complaining voice.

I've seen a lot of this lately in SSP and the Mooche. Haven't actually seen anyone riding there.

this is the time a year when they come and not much you or anyone else can do to stop it. Parks are short in manpower and cops seem to have other things to do.

Stewarts has a no moto policy yet the moto riders have a planned wed evening ride every week.

I rode Stephens yesterday from 10:30 to around noon time. Rode the same trails as rlb.....didn't notice any damage at that time....so it must have happened sometime afterward....My only issue was being swarmed by bugs...and having to shoo away a bear off Kinney road enroute back to the car...

This does suck! and unfortunately does happen from time to time...as there are no legal moto places left in Jersey, however, tons of people still own quads and Motocross bikes!:hmmm:

The bugs were insane. Every time I stopped for a tick check I gave up and started moving again. The mosquitos are out in full force.

See and get.

If you see any, get a picture and a license plate number if they have one. Especially the license plate!

Call D.E.P. at 1-877-WARN-DEP and report it.

They're not part of the user group and certainly have done nothing to mantain the park.

Thanks for the phone number. I was riding Stephen's SP this past Tuesday, June 7, 2011 and heard 2-3 dirt bikes coming up the trail. It seemed that they stopped and turned around then they saw our large group. Unfortunately, I could not see them through the bushes as I was at the back of our group. This was my first and only encounter with motos at Stephen's SP.
