This is my favorite hour or so after work loop to do up in Ringwood starting from near my parents house. Ringwood is known for having too many fire roads, and this route sticks to the single track as much as possible. The trails themselves are rather technical with many rock gardens to be found.

I haven't riden up ringwood much this year (since I've been on motionbased) so this is my only longer route up there that I have logged. It incorporates the trails on the previous route with the inclusion of the race course.

hey man,

Could you please explain how I can find the trailhead and where parking is? It's off of Valley Rd? Unfortunately, I don't have GPS!

Thanks!

The trailhead that I start from on those routes really doesn't have any parking, your best bet is to park down by Ryerson school on Valley Road. There is a trailhead from there, just at the top of the hill before the school parking lot behind the fence to the right. By going up the red trail from there you can very quickly get on to the trail network on those routes.

fire roads plus singletrack

guys,
i have only ridden ringwood twice and both times i've gotten lost. i found a loop on motionbased that looked pretty good but we didn't end up even trying to follow it (we parked in a different spot and then could never find it...here's that loop: http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/3676032
but, here's what i'm looking for, perhaps to ride tomorrow:
i would love fireroads up and technical singletrack down. it seems like ringwood should have that combination in spades. does anyone have an 8 - 12mi mile course like that?
just an fyi also...if you ever find yourself in Marin County California, check out Camp Tamarancho...i was there last thursday. it was fantastic. smooth, tight, twisty singletrack. tons of switchbacks. a total blast!

Here is one loop that highlights what Ringwood is all about. Lots of RocKs :getsome:
If you don't come out with a big GRIN on your face, then something must be wrong with you :D

About 15.5 mi.

Basically...
From school:
Take school trail towards lot C, Fireroad up to new trail.
all new trail to race course to sheperds lake. Around lake up-down fire road to Blueberry to Pierson Ridge rd to blue to white to yellow to lookout. yellow to blue to red to double s to 6 bridges to Renegade (cat's nest) to white, out to fire road then back school trail to the lot.
:hmmm::confused::hmmm:

Had a couple of mechanicals today, but conditions were perfect.

Here is a loop from this past weekend. Rode from top of Skyline drive at Ramapo across the Yellow trail into Ringwood SP. Looped around Ringwood hitting Renegade, the new trail, Skylands trail, Pierson Ridge, and a few others. Then rode back the yellow trail. About 16.5 miles, really excellent technical brutal riding the whole way. Almost zero fireroad.

Is the GPX data still valid?

Hi,

I am new to NJ and I am looking for GPX data for the parks. Is the one posted here still valid? If I am reading this correctly the last post in this thread was in 2010. Thanks a lot for your help. :)
