LM - Dry out time?

I know that LM dries out pretty quick, but damn that was a lot of rain last night.

Anyone think it will be dry enough to be rideable after work today?

it might need a little more time, but who knows? we've had a lot of rain, either way i'd say check it out, just be prepared for a turn around if the trails are bad. IMO, its better to try it out than to not know. with all the gravel patriots path has, it has to drain well. if the LM loop sucks, you could probably still get some sort of a ride in on PP.

throw out an update if you go out.

My guess is that LM is mush and that PP will be mostly ridable. I'm going to hit The Tourne in Boonton at 5pm if you wanna give that a try let me know.

uh, no.

the tourne dries out even faster but that'll have some serious wet on the white trail. red may be ok though.

Just a quick little follow up.

Had a great ride at Lewis Morris today. I wasn't the only person who was taking advantage of the short break of rainless weather. Saw about 8 other riders, which is twice the number from last Saturday.

Trails were mostly moist with a few slick spots. I almost got bit by a snowsnake once or twice. This was a very successful ride for me, for the first time this season, (3rd ride) I was able to ride the whole yellow loop with out doing any bike-n-hike. Had a great adrenaline rush when I was done. I felt good the whole ride home.

Lots of wildlife out today. Saw two white tail deer, frogs, some small furry things. I had a Les Stroud (Survivorman) moment while sitting on one of the benches and taking a break. I threw an apple in my pack before I left, but when I was digging for it, I found 1 Apple Pie Cliff Shot & 1 Polly-o string cheese left in there from ski season. Wow that was a nice find.

I didn't feel like taking 287 to 24 on the way home, so I told my GPS to take the shortest route home. Love my Garmin, as she took me right past Bottle King (the only consistent source of my Long Trail Blackbeary Wheat).

This is pretty much the wettest part of the yellow loop

Very soft. Tacky in some spots, greasy in others. Rideable. Have at it!

as long as it's not sandy! ha. i hate that sugar sand down south.

i was in around 8:45 and out before 10:00. did my part to make the ruts even worse. heh. :hmmm: ...i think in a few days it'll be back to normal.

I was just here this morning, yellow trail was pretty dry. Only two spots that I can recall were anything more then tacky. Gonna go back again tomorrow after work.
