I have not been to either. Jungle I'm sure I'll hit on some random weekend(s) this summer. Wayway is a bit further out of my way so maybe, maybe not. You've been to waway and jungle?
Are you talking Jones Park in Vestel, NY? If so they hold the Southern Tier enduro there and it's actually really fun to rip some xc laps on. Not super big but steep, technical a bit and flow. They put a good amount of work into those trails. My house is about 15 minutes west.I'll be in Hancock, NY in August. Looking to hit a spot on my way home. Jones Park and Aqua-Terra are an hour west (out of my way). Port Jervis (which I'll probably hit before then anyway) and Waywayanda basically on my route. Is Jones/Aqua-Terra worth the detour?
I have never been there but waiting for a reply from my buddy Phil. Chenango Valley of 81 near Binghamton is pretty fast/flowy single track. Lackawanna north of Clarks Summit off 81is also pretty good.thanks Dave! I'm always inclined to hit new places that I may not otherwise get a chance to see. I saw Aqua-Terra on youtube also. What do you think of hitting both spots in the same trip?
I did both spots on the same trip last May when I was staying over the border in Montrose, Pa. Aqua-terra is very down hill/enduro oriented. I was out of my depth on skill level, some of those trails are literally straight down with nothing but giant boulders to stop you. But if that is your thing, it was still a great area.thanks Dave! I'm always inclined to hit new places that I may not otherwise get a chance to see. I saw Aqua-Terra on youtube also. What do you think of hitting both spots in the same trip?
Aqua-Terra is a Broome County Park bisected East/West by Maxian Rd. in the Town of Binghamton. The South side of the park consists of gravity trails on the slopes of the former ski area Innsbruck USA which can be accessed via a road, formerly Wein, that climbs the right side of the ski hill. The north side of the park is xc oriented. Trails begin at the summit of the ski hill and consist of constructed and natural features some of which are large, however, most trail features are rollable to riders' right. Scouting is strongly advised as are a full face helmets, armor, and a buddy. The park has no facilities and limited to no cell service in the valley until about half way up the hill . . . So if you need to call for assistance crawl up the hill not down. Enjoy and ride smart.
No, my wife's family is in Pittsburgh and we were looking for a spot to rent a house and hang out, found a really nice house with an indoor pool on VRBO.Do you have family in Montrose? My house is 20 minutes from there. I’ve been going up since the late 80s.
