May I suggest a lighter colored attire in sunny conditions? If I’m not mistaken you word all black, head to toe...I would personally blame it on that! Still an alien in my book anyway!

Possibly. I'm not sure if it makes any real difference when it's 90+ degrees. I think the ice towel trick works the best but that isn't an option in an ultra most times. Brevets it works because you have Controls a lot closer together so you can cool down more often.
It took out quite a few in the XL as it was really the first hot spell for most of us. Except the guy that won because he's from Arizona.
