With my impending move to SJ I have questions and any help would be appreciated and I know I can probably find it on line but more fun to ask here
Does Jersey have annual inspection/smog¿
How soon after move do I have to register vehicles here?
If I have a valid PA license how soon after move do I have to get a NJ license?
Caveat is we'll probably keep the PA address for a month or 2 till we sell
TIA

Car inspection probably due at the same time I didn’t check that far.

Only certain NJ DMV locations do car inspections (free) or you can go to a certified inspection location like a private repair shop (not free).

By the book - 30 days.
i'd play the - when the registration needs to be renewed game.

Then transfer the title/registration/insurance, your license.

Every year for registration - renew online
Every two years on inspection (new cars get 4 or 5)
No inspection after 25 years.
Wait times for inspection stations are posted online - ymmv, I've never had to wait more than 30 minutes in the last 25 years.

Welcome to NJ!
Make sure to get your Taylor Ham punch card.
File for ANCHOR if that works in your favor

Good luck Dave.

Where @teabagger11 is relocating to is rock solid Pork Roll country and competes with Scrapple. It's also south of the Mason-Dixon line.

I kept my NY license 2 years after I moved to NJ. Nothing adverse occurred. I just didn't feel like having to take NJ motorcycle written test again at the time.
