industry nine hydra rear axle broke.....

Seems like a major design flaw, is this only on the Hydra's? Any chance this could result in injury? Seems only obvious when the wheel is removed
 
Had this happen on a Hope Pro 4 SS rear hub as well. The thru axle was aluminum and twice, sheared clean off at a spot similar as pictured. Warrantied both times and supposedly, I have the 1st stainless steel 12x142 thru axle for that SS hub in the U.S. Been good since, which is probably 5-6 years.

I broke my Stan’s neo rear axle when the rear axle bolt got loose on a ride . If your axle bolt gets loose the free wheel can be pulled loose from the hub body enough to load the axle. At least that’s what Stan’s told me.
