Indian Lake NY Adirondacks

I’m heading for an impromptu Weekend get away to Indian Lake NY. I’ve been there during the winter but never in the summer. Anyone have any road/gravel/mtb loops they can point me to? The roads I’ve driven up there all seem like highways heading into town. I’ll be the only one riding so rides would be under 2 hours. @Sven Migot based on 31/31 thread?

last summer i rode a couple of days in and around lake placid.

seems like that's a bit of a hike from indian lake, but if you're up for an hour drive, check out the trails maintained by the barkeater trail alliance...

the lussi/logger trails and craig wood were both really good stuff...super flowy, just enough tech.

ACA Adirondack Park loop goes right by Indian Lake. Maybe that could be worth following for a while if you end up bringing the road bike.

I took my Con Crosso up to Indian Lake in search of some gravel. Its tough to do a true loop even on the road, more of an out and back scenario. One wrong turn and you could be 25 miles before it connects back to civilization. Large rolling hills with some good elevation change. It was unseasonably hot/humid and that didn't help me with my climbing.

The Black Fly Challenge Starts/Finishes (alternating years) at Indian Lake. I didn't make it to the gravel section on Cedar River Road which is what the race follows. A few beers on the lake made this ride a little harder.

I did find some gravel down by the Indian Lake Dam. Damn the dam needs some work.

If I was there one more day, I would have followed Chain Lakes Road north to more gravel. I missed the turn (see above) and only rode a short section on the way back to a nice little view.

That’s not an optical illusion, right? The water IS leaking right through the structure..... ?

Brant Lake Bike Park is worth a ride, based out of The Hub in Brant Lake. Free to ride trails. Can get food/beers afterward right at the trailhead (behind The Hub).

Also, as mentioned above, there's lots of riding in the Lake Placid/Wilmington area. See BETA website. A lot of expansion up there in past couple years.

North Creek Ski Bowl has trails, I haven't ridden them, but hear they are fun. Hit Becks Tavern afterwards for some German food

Just rode here with @pedals and @Patrick
I struggled a bit to get to the top on my rigid SS but made it with a few stops to calm the heart rate. Just pure fun single track. The payoff back down was worth it.
