Huber Woods

Could I please get some info on Huber Woods trails? I've read the info online about them - and I've hiked at Hartshorne - but never been in Huber.

It's not far from where I live, and it's also on my way home from work - so I'm considering using it as a easy stop off for after work rides or quick spot to get to if not heading to Allaire.

Is Huber more beginner oriented? (I'm pretty sure it is in comparison to Hartshorne?)

What's the bets approach for riding there...where to park, what trails to hit, how to connect to Hartshorne, and is riding just Huber itself pretty short or what?

Thanks

Huber is a mini hartshorne. But more rolling hills. It's a great place to ride. Rode last night and Its always a good time.

In the central trail section there is a section on huber and hartshorne. IMHO huber is more beginner friendly that hartshorne. You can park in the main lot and hit all the trails from thier.

two parking lots: one off Navesink Rd, main lot off Browns Dock.

agree with above... more beginner friendly than hartshorne as less "technical" and less hilly. with that said, is a nice challenge for a noob. I would describe it as half-way between hartshorne and Allaire in these regards.

its a small park. look on the map for what is open to mountain bikes. all trails open to bikes are similar (no big difference) and you can hit them all pretty easy (since again, its a small park). but please make sure to stay off the trails restricted from mtbers.

huber is pretty much my home park. while small one can certainly get a good workout riding huber alone....e.g., do a figure 8 and then do it backwards....doubling the trail miles 🙂

if you want a tour lemme know and I'll show you the trails.

A tour would be cool - when do you typically ride there...and when's your next time out? Send me a message if you'd like to reply there instead of on the thread.

Thanks

my riding schedule is all over the place (ride whenever I can or, in other words, when the wife lets me). not sure when going next (perhaps this weekend). will let you know when I intend to go there via message.
