Horns Hill Park
This will be the 3rd and final park (from 2024) that I ride in Ohio. I'm sure future trips will add to the list, but for the summer of 2024 this will be the end.
Right up front: this park is way above my pay grade. I cannot believe this is an open park in central Ohio, or anywhere for that matter. Some of this stuff is bonkers-big. Like massive, almost RedBull type stuff.
I do not know if I will ever come back here, as many of these trails are beyond what I am comfortable riding with people, let along solo.
Getting There/Parking
Columbus is a long way from NJ. It's highly unlikely that you'll be planning a trip here just to bike. So let's assume you're already here. The park is west of the city center by 45 minutes depending where you're staying, and the time of day.
You can park in either of the lots to access most of the stuff.
General Ride/Trail Notes
This is probably best talked about in terms of colors
- If it's green, it will be all rideable
- Blue is almost totally rideable but not always
- Black - forget it, there will be stuff that many of us will not do
- Double Black - why bother?
- Red - this is just for pictures only
Routes
- August 2024 here - you don't really need to follow a route. The park is really simple to navigate.

Trip Planner
I may throw together a Columbus ride planner at some point but right now let's assume you are not here for a MTB weekend.
Food & Drink
I've been to Columbus 3 times in 2024 and the list of places to eat & drink here grows each time. This specific park isn't really near anything, so my recommendation would basically be: "Go back to town and find something."
If/when I put together a Columbus trip page, I will include some of my favorite places to stop while here.
