Hariman State Park Road Loops?

I really don't think 1.5-2hrs is enough for the area .. If you're gonna come up, you should plan for like 4+hrs. But if you have to, the one you posted is a good intro. Everyone should climb Bear Mountain at least once. There is a park & ride at Stony Point, you can use for parking:

Rode Seven Lakes Drive this morning. They were still paving the top coat at the southwestern end, but the rest of it is awesome. You Couldn't ask for a better surface. Word of caution, there is a pretty big drop off on the edges in some spots.

I would drive into the park to Kenawaukee and ride from there. There is a lot on 106 just west of the circle. The new pavement is really nice. From there you can ride to the bottom of bear mt and back up with little traffic. Bear mt gets traffic after noon on weekends.

Thank you! I kind of just want a taste for now, afraid to go TOO far without knowing where the F I am 😛

Jimmy, is that extra loop you put on that GPS file worth it?

Mine Road = some good climbing, you won't see another soul
283 = eh and flat with traffic, but huge shoulder
9W coming back south = sucks for the most part

You're better going down 7 Lakes Drive, esp for the 1st time, but that means you have to climb back out. Another option is cross the Bear Mtn Bridge and explore the other side of Hudson.

Ellen's suggestion is a good one. You could park inside the park, and do a loop side the park.. i.e. 7 Lakes Dr, Lake Welch Pkwy, Tiorati Brook Rd. If you feel up to it, add in the the Bear Mtn climb. That's actually pretty standard for Harriman.

....and not include Perkins? That is the million dollar view!
