Headed out this morning with no real plan, other than to hit 30-35 miles. It’s been 4-5 years since I’ve been out to Lake Road (Far Hills?), and man, that road sucks now. Holy shit, it’s a fucking mess. Anywho. Turnt left at the end instead of right and inadvertently added some miles on... ??‍♂️

JIYF20-25: The king called up his jet fighters

Got buzzed by this guy in KVSP.
They like to do laps around here.
Utah tells me it’s probably an F-15.

Holy crap, if this wasn’t a drill and you were on the wrong side of this, it’d be pretty intimidating.
Loud af.
Sounds like the end of the world.

WOLVERINES!!!!

Edit:
From the local PD’s FB:

They call it F35, but I’ll go with Utah on F15.
They may have grounded a plane at Aeroflex Sussex for entering restricted airspace.

Edit edit: ran into neighbor- confirmed F-15, extended range fuel pods. Most likely from an air national guard base in southern Mass- most local place with 15’s in stock.

7/25 I was able to hit some local dirt with Nate. We cleared what debris we could from the storms Thursday but the bugs were so bad we headed back to pavement to finish out the hour.

I’m gonna be honest. I’m not enjoying the bike right now with this heat. After 90 minutes or less every ride becomes a death march.

I feel worse than I look. And I look miserable.

Then we went home and ate lunch. Then went to RV to hike:

As the ride title states, this was done with a goal in mind.

FU summer!

July 25.

Last Saturday I rode 20 miles at Stephens, so I figured today I'd spread that distance across the 3 Allamuchy mountain parks. Although, todays mileage in Stephen's was minimal.

I packed 100 oz of water and ice in my pack and I drained it. I started from the crowded Continental Drive lot, because I was not sure if I was going to do the 3-park loop with the heat, and figured I might only ride to the North side and back. I skipped Lumpy Bumpy because it was too hot, but I rode Ditch/Cardiac Bypass up and over Purple instead of taking the easier route down White to Orange. I saw more hikers than bikers, and I only saw people in Mooch.

Day 26
I’m with @Norm ..... I’m not dealing with the heat/humidity well at all.

I rolled the MTB out to the Power Lines in Chatham as far as I could go.

It’s super overgrown now, as I’m guessing nobody rides here anymore only to have to turn around and go back, so that’s the end of that.
Rode back into Madison and over to the short trails behind the community pool, still a lot of mud.

So today I decided to try some of the GU electrolyte pills I have. This year I’ve been trying to drink water as opposed to GU tab-infused water because it gets expensive. So I’m thinking about this last night and I realize that I’m no longer replacing the electrolytes like I used to. Hadn’t been an issue until this heat.

So I took 2 before and 2 during. I felt much better after this ride. May be something.

I’m still in it from a riding perspective. My photo game is terrible. I’ll partially blame it on how sweaty my hands and gloves are getting with the humidity. I have stopped several times and been unable to open my phone. Yesterday for a Dinosaur on the Clark side of Rahway Park. And today in Johnson Park. So following are my last three days of riding and some last night post Corn Hole relaxing out by the pool.
