I had two potential picture stops. But, I was a sweaty mess and phone wouldn’t open for me. First, was a completely non Social distance conforming basketball game at the New Providence sports complex. At least they were pretty good players
Second was the dam scene at the lake by the warren circle. It looked nice and I took a little break on the bench to refuel.

Presently enjoying a “Beach Ball” sour ale.

July 4.

Official return of the weekly shop ride and I was co-ride leader today. Big group and we split into two but we kept the front group controlled and reasonable since it’s been too long since we did any real group rides.

I left early for some extra miles because I knew it would get hot later. Legs felt great fuck holy fuck was it humid. I am lucky I can ride in and ride home since I only live 6-7 miles from the shop so getting some extra for my metric C today wasn’t too tricky

big peleton we didn’t social distance ride as much as I would have liked but overall it was great to be back with my cycling family

no pics but I jumped right in the pool when I got back and devoured 2 breakfast sandwiches.

Liverpool started a bit sluggish, but got rolling in the second half for a 2-0 win.

Todays ride put me over 200 miles and 10,000 feet of climbing for the week. Am really enjoying the new Diverge. First road like bike I’ve owned.

I had full plans to sleep in and actually not ride today but a friend I have not seen in a while texted me to ride so I could not say no.

back up around lake Hopatcong to show him the loop we took it easy and talked the whole ride it was excellent And the shaded roads helped keep us pretty cool considering the heat and humidity.

the timing of this fun contest is clashing with my need to recover from the most miles I have ever done in a week plus tons of climbing which is not my strong point. just goes to show what you can do when you have a target and stay focused on it.

So time for a few days off but I will have fun watching everyone’s rides and pics.

July 4th
Was supposed to be meeting some homies at Creek to shred the 4th, but they bailed for beers and bbq. I rebuilt my fork the night before so it seemed like a great time to smash it up on the tech trails. I’ve ridden Utah so many times... why I made the split second decision to drop a new line I do not know, but it ended with one of the hardest slams I’ve ever taken. By some miracle nothing is broken and the bike seems to be alright. Nothing like a 10’ fall to flat on your ribs right before the family bbq ?

July 5th
I’m actually amazed I can move today, and moving seems to be the only thing keeping me from going stiff so I took the road bike out for a chill ride around the lake. I’ve lived here a month but haven’t done any road exploring yet...its freakin gorgeous up here.
