July 1.
Went for an evening ride at 6:30 with my wife. We rolled down towards Califon, but had to retreat when the thunder and lightning started. We were in Long Valley and Middle Valley between the Schooley's Mtn ridge and the ridge to the south, that Frog Hollow Rd, Beacon Hill Rd. and Fairmount Rd. 517 climb. So we high-tailed it back along the same route.
Rain was closing in from both sides as the ridges get closer together. We had a steady rain for the last 3 miles, and the last mile seemed like a torrential downpour, although it may have seemed worse while riding at speed.

Day 2. Of some number of days.

Mountain bike

Did a bunch of backyard riding & work. Started riding while the kids were painting. Then I did some trail work. Then we rode some more.

We have all successfully ridden the Sanford & Son Memorial Mountain Bike Parkway. Picture 4 below.

Image 2 is our trails.

Took a break then rode down to East County and maybe inserted a few low-key jumps here & there.

3rd image is taking a break over in East County.

@chemgirl we just went to Nox. After 2 years of that backside being a mud hole they finally did something about it. Not great but better for sure. It’s not far from my folks but we go once a year because of the mud, really. Maybe we’ll go twice this year.
