Just got a message from the township that they are paving Snake Hill Road. This is the gravel road between Green Pond and Lake Denmark Road that is a very popular cycling route.

I received a call back. Only a the portion was paved that is on township property. Apparently the rest of the road is considered picatinny property, which could be paved or closed at their discretion.

No current plans to pave splitrock though they look to offload maintenance responsibility for it. .

I have not ridden this road. It looks fun.

Do you have any great pro-gravel routes in this are you can share?

Much appreciated. Is all of the NMG viable now? All legal? The roads around Charlottesburg seem to be heavily posted. Not sure if they mean to keep you off the roads or keep you from leaving the roads.

The grade belongs to Rockaway and is in the master plan to be a recreational trail, but Newark has stalled progress stating it is too close to the reservoir.
