I didn't remember that original crouch position, but man did that look god awful. How did his arms not go numb with cut off blood supply for an hour? Clearly effective tho

Very cool. I've wondered the same questions before. I could never figure out why he never had a real pro career if he was supposedly a TT beast. Seems he only needed to average around 350 watts to beat the record in the crouch, certainly not world class power. But he did have some efforts closer to 400 watts, which is really impressive. Of course there was many riders then that could easily top these numbers but not many pros even attempted it since it was extremely painful and some riders had little track experience. Heck even cancellera never attempted it and he was obviously a contender.
