Yeah I'd go with the 20 to start. You're basically either going up or down here. Not a lot of flat terrain to be had.

24 hours of allamuchy i ran 34-17 on the 29er. i walked alot, but i flew on the reasonably flat sections.

yes in 12 miles its crazy. Other than a training ride, i dont see much fun in that PAIN!!!!!!!

Do they charge year round at the main lot? And what is the fee?

I'm not sure when I can do a weekend ride there, but I can be out there by about 4:30PM on a weekday, so that might be what I try first.

And my FS is gathering dust in the basement with screwed-up brakes and a flat, so the rigid SS is the only game in town at the moment. Wahoo.

The fee is Memorial Day to Labor Day only. I think it's $10/car (kinda steep). There are other parking lots like the Cushatunk Preservation that are options for free parking year round.
