Tuesday Session. Finally getting some speed in the legs. After doing 2x20s to warm up, I did a bunch of 1 lap on 1 lap off jumps. Was able to consistently hit 33-34mph “on” laps which is ok for an Endurance guy but horrendous to be competitive in an actual race so I’ll keep plugging away and see what happens. Either way the structured speed work will come in handy.

On a more what you’d except on here vibe, I was one of the 20 people picked to do the UnPaved Big Lick. Being pretty good friends with Dave and begging him to throw an XL event the last 4 or 5 years probably helped 😂

And here I was debating the 90 or the 125 I’m guessing this one is 200?

Been pretty busy but squeezed in some quality PBP prep last weekend in Shenandoah. Used that intel to tweak my setup to the absolute bare minimum gear choices. I ordered a tiny front triangle bag because nothing I own will allow a 750 bottle.

11-days out and only 1 more Training Ride before I concentrate on a week on recovery, long sleeps, hydration, etc before going deep for 800 miles.

I did actually buy a real pump that actually pumps up the tire so I don’t need CO2s. I had a tiny specialized pump that took 1,000 strokes (not exaggerating) to get to like 60psi 😂

Running Pirelli tubes and patches and boots so I can fit 4 spares in the space of 1 normal tube. Bringing new tires that I will install in the hotel morning of the start so they have zero miles. My wife is meeting me in Brest and she’ll have a bag with all of that same stuff in a bag for the return leg. I’ve gotten so many flats that I’ve completely given up on road tubeless and my life has really gotten a lot better since.

And, I changed it again 😂

I think this is actually it though. The bar bag is empty to leave room for French Pastries along the route because, why would you NOT do that?

Weight loaded except for the one empty bottle. Put 5,000 Calories of Maurten in the bag plus filled the top tube bag with poop just to get a realistic feel. Also let my Garmin die and charged it coming home to 95% to make sure my Dyno is Dyno’ing.

Gonna throw on a fresh set of Turbo Cottons and put it in the box.
